With the rapid development of the oil and gas industry, there are more and more oil drilling companies, and the competition is also increasing. So for oil drilling companies, how to achieve "well, well, fast well"? First of all, there must be excellent drilling technology, new theory and practice guidance, followed by the use of excellent drilling equipment. However, in the face of complex and diverse geological structure, oil drilling is still faced with many factors such as deep borehole, high pressure and high temperature. One of the main factors affecting the production progress is the repair and replacement of production equipment parts after damage. Today, the oil distribution editor will take stock of those accessories and avoidance methods that are easily damaged in the process of oil drilling.

Petroleum drilling machinery often faces harsh field climate environment, with long cycle and high working intensity. Common faults are on accessories. General mechanical accessories include drill pipe, cylinder liner, piston rod, safety valve, valve body base, rubber cushion, brake belt column, etc,

Today, let's talk about three kinds of damage to the drill pipe of vulnerable parts in the process of oil drilling.

1, the drill pipe string reaches the critical speed, causing the drill pipe vibration caused by the drill pipe bending, excessive wear, rapid damage and fatigue damage.

2. Tensile failure often occurs in the upper part of the drill string, because the lifting force exceeds the ultimate strength of the yield point of the drill pipe, and the drill pipe will be easily broken.

3. The more common damage to drill pipes is called "fatigue damage". One is that the drill pipe bears the periodic stress of stretching, compression, torsion and bending. The second is the damage of the notch on the surface of the drill pipe. A notch defect in the processing or smelting process of the drill pipe itself will affect the use to a certain extent. Such as: manufacturer's steel seal pattern, arc burn, rubber protection failure, tongs tooth mark (common and serious), drill pipe bitten by poor slip processing, and cutting notch on the surface of drill tool caused by broken metal in formation and well (common on drill pipe and drill collar)

4, drill pipe corrosion damage (erosion, wear, fatigue) caused extremely serious damage. Sometimes several forms of corrosion occur at the same time, but in general, there is always one form of corrosion as the main cause of damage.

The above are the four common problems of vulnerable parts drill pipes in the oil drilling process. There are many details that need to be paid attention to in the actual use of oil drill pipes. Some can be avoided by staff operation and maintenance, and some need to be used in accordance with the production drill pipe standards. Refer to the drill pipe manual for details.
