Geological drill pipe is a geological drilling tool designed and produced by friction welding process of geological alloy steel pipe. Role of geological drill pipe
The drill pipe is used to connect the surface equipment of the drilling rig and the drilling and grinding equipment or bottom hole device at the bottom of the drilling well. It is a steel pipe with thread at the tail. The purpose of the drill pipe is to transport drilling mud to the drill bit and to raise, lower or rotate the drill bit to the bottom hole device. The drill pipe must be able to withstand huge internal and external pressure, twisting force, bending force and vibration. Drill pipe can be reused during mining and refining.
The raw steel pipe and the light pipe are made into a drill pipe after a number of processing steps. First, through the treatment of the steel pipe thickening process, the outer surface of the smooth tube is bent inward, and the steel pipe wall is thickened. Next, thread processing is performed and plated with copper to increase strength. Non-destructive quality control is then carried out, followed by welding of the steel pipe body joint. Then, the tube body is subjected to a welding heat treatment and a welding final treatment to eliminate the welding residual pressure. Other tests, including hardness test, pressure test and non-destructive test, shall be carried out on the finished steel pipe before the finished drill pipe is painted and packaged. The length of the drill pipe is generally about nine meters.
