What can improper use of oil drill pipes cause
release time:2024-09-19
source: network
Improper use not only affects the service life of drill pipes, but may also have a serious impact on the safety and efficiency of drilling operations.
1. Overuse, exceeding the bearing capacity of the drill pipe, and operating under harsh geological conditions can cause the drill pipe to break or bend, directly leading to the interruption of drilling operations, increasing maintenance and replacement costs, and even potentially causing safety accidents.
2. Working at high speed and friction for a long time without necessary lubrication and maintenance can cause severe wear on the surface of the drill pipe, reduce its service life, and increase resistance and energy consumption during the drilling process.
3. Excessive or insufficient torque during connection, uncleaned threads, and insufficient application of thread oil can cause damage to the threads, resulting in loose connection of the drill rod, oil leakage, air leakage, and even detachment of the drill rod in severe cases.
4. Unclean sealing surfaces, aging or damage of sealing materials can lead to drilling fluid leakage, affecting the normal progress of drilling operations and increasing drilling costs.
5. Failure to take effective protective measures and improper composition of drilling fluid during operations in corrosive environments can lead to corrosion of the surface and interior of the drill pipe, reducing its strength and toughness, and increasing the risk of fracture and failure.
