Firstly, choose high-temperature resistant lubricants: High temperatures can accelerate the oxidation of lubricating oil, so high-temperature resistant lubricants such as zinc based thread grease should be used to avoid premature wear of threads caused by inferior oils such as butter.
Regular cleaning and application are equally important: before installing the drill rod, it is necessary to clean the male and female buckles and waterway holes to prevent debris from blocking the channel or scratching the threads; When applying thread oil, it should be evenly covered to ensure sealing.
Cooling system optimization and drill pipe insulation technology: In ultra deep geothermal wells, the use of insulated drill pipes (IDP) can reduce the bottomhole circulation temperature by 142-194 degrees Fahrenheit and minimize the erosion of drill pipes by drilling fluid.
Mud pump cooling: In high temperature weather, the mud pump is prone to overheating of the motor due to insufficient cooling water. Cooling water needs to be replaced at least 3 times per shift, and temperature guns should be equipped to monitor the temperature of the pump body. If necessary, spray cooling should be used.
