source: network
The condition and proper maintenance of drill collars during use can ensure their safe and efficient functioning.
1. Straightness requirement: The straightness of the drill collar must meet certain standards, which can be referred to in relevant tables or regulations.
2. Threaded shoulder and pipe body: The width of the threaded shoulder of the drill collar shall not be less than the specified size, and the damage to the drill collar pipe body shall not exceed the specified size.
3. Thread wear inspection: After the drill collar thread is worn, check it with a comb gauge, and the wear amount should not exceed the specified value. If the threaded shoulder surface is uneven due to bonding or impact, it should be kept intact at the inner edge. The minimum width of the intact part should reach more than half of the specified value, and the protruding part must be ground flat.
4. Outer diameter wear treatment: When the outer diameter of the drill collar is uniformly worn down to the outer diameter of the smaller drill collar and the inner diameter is the same as the inner diameter of the smaller drill collar, the thread should be changed to a smaller size thread. The drill collar should be used as a small-sized drill collar, and the size of the drill collar can only be reduced once.
5. Diameter and flaw detection: When using old drill collars, diameter inspection must be carried out, and those with blocked water holes must not be lowered into the well. At the same time, it is necessary to regularly inspect and test the drill collar according to regulations.
