Oil drill pipe is an important tool for oil mining, and its quality and safety are directly related to the stability and safety of mining work. The use of non-destructive testing methods can effectively detect defects and bending issues inside oil drill pipes, thereby avoiding unnecessary losses and risks. Ultrasonic testing and magnetic particle inspection are two common non-destructive testing methods for petroleum drill pipes, which have the advantages of high detection accuracy, non-destructive testing, and high efficiency.
1. Ultrasonic testing method:
Ultrasonic testing is a common non-destructive testing method for petroleum drill pipes. This method involves spraying ultrasonic probes on the rod and detecting the reflected ultrasonic signals through electronic instruments to evaluate whether there are defects in the rod. This method can detect cracks, deformations, and other issues inside the drill rod.
2. Magnetic particle inspection method:
Magnetic particle inspection is another common non-destructive testing method for petroleum drill pipes. This method is divided into two types: magnetic powder wet method and magnetic powder dry method. The specific operation is to apply powdered magnetic powder on the surface of the drill rod and detect defects such as cracks and deformations inside the rod body through a magnetic field. This method can detect internal cracks, crack clusters, hydrides, and other issues in drill rods.
